Answer: Hello!

The parent function is f(x)=|x| if you want a function g(x) that has a graph narrower than the graph of f(x), then the slope of g(x) must be greater than 1.

where g(x) has the form: f(x) = |ax| where a is a real number, and particularly in this case, greater than one, then an example of this can be if we took an equal to 2, then:

g(x) = |2x| is a function that has a graph narrower than the graph of the parent function.

The ratio of circumference to diameter is independent of the radius.

Defining C=circumference, r=radius, D=diameter =  2r

Circumference = C = 2 π r = π D

6. What are the solutions for p2 - 16 = 0 ?<br> A) {-4,4} B) {4}<br> C) {-8, 8} D) {8}
AVprozaik [17]

Answer:

A

Step-by-step explanation:

Given

p² - 16 = 0 ( add 16 to both sides )

p² = 16 ( take the square root of both sides )

p = ± \sqrt{16} = ± 4

Thus solution is { - 4, 4 } → A

hram777 [196]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

A  = 2π +πrl

A - 2π = πrI                  subtract by 2π

(A- 2π)/(πr) = I               divide by πr to isolate I

The inequality 2 p ≤ 18 can be used to determine how many pounds of apples at $2.00 per pound, p, you can buy while spending $18
Irina-Kira [14]
So we know we don't want to exceed 18 dollars.

So what we want to know is how many times can 2 dollars go into 18 dollars.

We would do 18/2 = 9

Now the answer is 9, so we know we can buy 9 pounds of apples without going over 18 dollars.
