Explain the amendment or liberty being violated in this cartoon
posledela
This political cartoon is showing how the right to vote for African-American citizens was unfairly restricted during the era of Jim Crow laws in the United States.

This sign discusses a literacy test. A literacy test was a written exam that individuals had to pass in order to vote. These tests were usually very difficult due to the amount of questions on them, the wording of the questions, and the amount of time given to complete the test. This resulted in thousands of African-Americans being unable to vote. These tests would become illegal when the Voting Rights Act of 1965 was passed.

Answer: He advocated for their freedom and instead supported the use of African American slaves, so in a way he protected them. He felt bad for them and wanted to do his best to fight for them. Las Casas witnessed a massacre of poorly armed natives, a scene he would never forget. He traveled around the island a great deal and was able to see the deplorable conditions in which the natives lived. After that he decided it was his duty to help.

Explanation:

Bartolomé de las Casas spent 50 years of his life actively fighting slavery and the colonial abuse of indigenous peoples, especially by trying to convince the Spanish court to adopt a more humane policy of colonization.
