Charlie is treated extremely poorly, people were constantly making fun of him and always treated him as if he was a child.
One example is when I believe they got Charlie drunk and then made him do something really stupid but for the life of me, I can't remember it...

 if a budget was to be set in place I could save up to go to concerts and things like that.
