What causes a hurricane to lose energy when it moves onto land?

Physics

I know that in order for a hurricane to gain energy, it needs water and warm air and since hurricanes form in the water due to thunder storms near Africa, it loses energy because there is not much water on land than it is in the ocean or sea. :)

jamal is playing with magnetic toy vehicles. He has two identical magnetic vehicles (purple and green) on different sides of a c
KengaRu [80]

Answer:

Since potential energy increases with increase in the separation distance, Jamal should move the toy car that will create the largest separation distance.  The magnetic force that will act on the vehicles as he moves the cars away from each other will decrease because magnetic force is inversely proportional to the separating distance between the cars.

What is a heterogeneous mixture and what is a homogeneous mixture?
yuradex [85]
A heterogeneous mixture is a mixture that contains two or more distinct substances that you can see. You can see the different part if a heterogeneous mixture. An example of this is a salad. You can see all of the parts. A homogeneous mixture is a mixture that is uniform and you cannot see the different parts. It is still a mixture though. An example of that would be salt water. The water and salt are not chemically combined but you cannot see the salt AND water. It is just one solution.

An experiment is conducted on a long straight wire of diameter d. A constant current is sent through the wire and the magnetic f
soldi70 [24.7K]

Answer:

D.

Explanation:

To solve the exercise it is necessary to apply the concepts related to the Magnetic Field described by Faraday.

The magnetic field is given by the equation:

B = \frac{\mu_0 I}{2\pi d}

Where,

\mu = Permeability constant

d = diameter

I = Current

For the given problem we have a change in the diameter, twice that of the initial experiment, therefore we define that:

B_1 = \frac{\mu_0 I}{2\pi d}

B_2 = \frac{\mu_0 I}{2\pi 2d}

The ratio of change between the two is given by:

\frac{B_2}{B_1} = \frac{\frac{\mu_0 I}{2\pi d}}{\frac{\mu_0 I}{2\pi 2d}}

\frac{B_2}{B_1} = \frac{d}{2d}

\frac{B_2}{B_1} = \frac{1}{2}

B_2 = B_1 \frac{1}{2}

Therefore the correct answer is D.
