Catal Huyuk is located in a relatively high fertile plateau. The plateau is surrounded by mountains on all four sides that gradually lift the terrain up and thus making the plateau have a nest-shape. This is a place that is semi arid, so the landscape has kind of steppe like appearance, with dry looking mountains around it, with the yellowish and brownish colors dominating.
