Lorico [155]

I. District Courts.

II. Circuit Court.

III. Courts of Appeal (Appellate Court).

IV. Supreme Court.

Explanation:

The ranking of courts in an ascending order (lowest to highest) is;

I. District Courts: it is also known as trial court. This is a court of original jurisdiction and as such it is the court where issues of fact, evidence, laws, and testimony for a litigation are first received, considered and decided.

II. Circuit Court: this are the twelve (12) courts that make up the Courts of Appeal. It is essentially the first level of appeal in litigations.

III. Courts of Appeal (Appellate Court): it can be defined as a court of law of the judicial system that is empowered by law (jurisdiction) and saddled with the responsibility of hearing and reviewing an appeal of a trial-court or other lower court (tribunal).

IV. Supreme Court: it refers to a federal court and it's known to be the highest court in relation to the hierarchy of courts in the judicial branch. These nine (9) justices are appointed only by the president and subsequently confirmed by the senate after screening them diligently.
