"Laissez-faire" can be translated as an attitude of letting things be. As an Economic Doctrine it means the abstention by the government from interfering with the free market. This is also known as the "laissez-faire capitalism", which is completely oppossed to economic regulations.

These empires has never had access to goods that were from other areas before the Silk road, causing trade to become immensely popular and relied upon.
