Describe one kind of diagram you might draw to help you solve a problem

I would draw an electrical schematic diagram of the circuit that I constructed
to help me figure out why the digital counter is counting too many counts.
Then I can see where more .01 bypass capacitors can be added, to keep
current spikes away from the TTL inputs.
(This was very useful in 1978.  It actually worked, and I'll never forget it.)
