Answer:

Pauli had 320 chips at the beginning of the game

Step-by-step explanation:

denoting x as the number of initial chips then

1°) lost half her total = x/2  , remaining after that = x-x/2= x/2

2°) won 54 chips, now Pauli has 54+x/2

3°) lost half her total again , now Pauli has 1/2( 54+x/2)

4°) won 50 chips , finally Pauli has  1/2( 54+x/2) + 50

therefore

1/2( 54+x/2) + 50 = 157

54+x/2 = (157-50)*2 = 214

x/2 = 214-54 = 160

x= 160*2 = 320 chips

x= 320 chips

then Pauli had 320 chips at the beginning of the game

Problem Ari thinks the perfect milkshake has 333 ounces of caramel for every 555 scoops of ice cream. Freeze Zone makes batches
Diano4ka-milaya [45]

Answer:

That their milkshakes need more caramel or less ice cream.

Step-by-step explanation:

We can see that Ari's numbers for a perfect milkshake gives us a caramel to ice cream ratio of 333 / 555 = 0,6.

But the Freeze Zone uses a caramel to ice cream ratio of 666 / 888 which is equal to 0,75.

Their milkshakes have less caramel and more ice cream than Ari's perfect milkshake so Ari will think that Freeze Zone's milkshakes are not sweet enough.

I hope this answer helps.

The owner of the Rancho Bar X wishes to use 2400 yards of fencing to enclose a rectangular piece of grazing land along the strai
aleksandrvk [35]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Let length be x and breadth be y .

Along the river no fencing is required so total boundary line of the rectangular land = x + y + y = x + 2y

add divider to it so total length

= x + 2y + y = x + 3y

x + 3y = 2400

area A = xy

y ( 2400 - 3y ) = A

2400y - 3y² = A

For maximum area dA / dy = 0

2400 - 6y = 0

y = 400 yards.

x = 1200 yards

largest area = xy

= 48000 sq yards.
