List at least three ways to conserve nonrenewable resources.

The main concern when using nonrenewable resources is, well, that they cannot be reused, so they must be used in a responsible way and be conserved as much as possible.

One way you can conserve a nonrenewable resource is by using it less. For example, if you have a wood fireplace, you don't need to keep it constantly burning, so you let it burn out or put water on it. That way, you need to burn no more wood (even though some consider wood a renewable resource).

Another way you can conserve nonrenewable resources is to manage your water. Water is a very abundant source, but freshwater is harder to find. Wasting it by keeping the water running while you, say, brush your teeth, is wasting it.

The final way you can conserve natural resources is by switching from a standard car to a hybrid or electric car. These need little or no fuel to run.

How do cell differentiation and cell division work together?
Flura [38]

Answer:

After mitosis is over, each of the daughter cells continues its separate life.

Explanation:

One or both can be started or continued through differentiation, ie. processes that give different cells special structures and functions. A cell destined to become a nerve cell moves in one way of differentiation, and a cell destined to be a muscle cell moves in another.

A variation of this mechanism involves a special type of cell called a stem cell. The stem cell divides by mitosis, whereby one daughter cell remains the stem cell and continues to divide again and again, while the other difference in certain cell peaks is determined in the tissues.

Why are cells so small? In your answer, use the terms volume, distance, diffusion, surface area, plasma membrane.
Leno4ka [110]

Answer:

Cells are so little, so they can maximize their ratio of surface area to volume.

Explanation:

Smaller cells have a higher ratio which allows more molecules and ions to move across the cell membrane per unit of cytoplasmic volume. Cells are so small because they need to be able to get the nutrients in and the waste out quickly.
