Answer:

It was made to satisfy the North and the South

Explanation:

The South wanted to become their own country because they wanted to continue slavery and follow their own rules. The North wanted to end slavery and they didn't agree. This was how they satisfied both areas without splitting them into two different countries. I was talking about Missouri of course!

Hope this helps!

In an effort to preserve the balance of power in Congress between slave and free states, the Missouri compromise was passed in 1820 admitting Missouri as a slave state and Maine as a free state.

Which sentences from frederick douglass’ speech, what to the slave is the fourth of july?, show the separation between him and h
Andre45 [30]

The prove that there is a separation between him and his listeners' attitudes to the fourth of July can be reduced from the first paragraph.

What is the summary of the first paragraph?

The synopsis of the first paragraph expresses that Douglas starts his opening speech well and expresses negativity at the end of the paragraph. He considers his presence at the 4th of July celebration as an embarrassment.

This implies that he considers it a worthless celebration. He expresses his dissatisfaction towards the Americans for not living up to which they proclaimed.

Therefore, the correct answer is as given above.
