Disagree
They say there are three pairs of integers that match, well..
1+7=8
2+6=8
3+5=8

-1+-7=-8
-2+-6=-8
-3+-5=-8
The same applies to negative integers because the absolute value of -3 and 3 is still 3. No matter the negative or not. So that gives us 6 pairs not 3.

b = 2.77 m
A = 43.0°
C = 111.1°

cosine law to find b

b^2 = a^2 + c^2 -2ac \cos B \\ \\
b = \sqrt{a^2 + c^2 -2ac \cos B} \\ \\
b = \sqrt{4.33^2 + 5.92^2 - 2(4.33)(5.92) \cos 25.9} \\
b = 2.7708\ m

b = 2.7708\ m

Find angle A with sine law

\displaystyle
\frac{\sin A}{a} = \frac{\sin B}{b} \\ \\
\sin A = \frac{a \sin B}{b} \\ \\
A = \sin^{-1} \left[ \frac{a \sin B}{b}  \right] \\ \\
A = \sin^{-1} \left[ \frac{4.33 \sin 25.9}{2.7708}  \right]  \\ \\
A = 43.0467020

Find C with angles in triangle sum to 180

A + B + C = 180
C = 180 - A - B
C = 180 - 43.0467020 - 25.9
C = 111.1

How many ways are there to put 6 balls in 3 boxes if the balls are distinguishable but the boxes are not?
FromTheMoon [43]

This is essentially asking how many different ways to partition 6 into 3 segments.

I am assuming "no ball in a box" is not allowed.

6 can be partitioned as

(4,1,1), (3,2,1), and (2,2,2)

So, calculate each partition, we get

(6 choose 4) + (6 choose 3)*(3 choose 2) + (6 choose 2) * (4 choose 2)

= 15 + 20*3 + 15*6

=165

A person is trapped in a burning building 60feet off the ground. A rescuer has a 70 foot ladder, but for safety purposes the lad
Neko [114]
Yes because, if the building is 60 ft from the ground and the ladder is 70 ft,shouldn’t it escalate an extra 10 ft because this is technically an emergency and it can be considered to be used as a reason for safety purposes, if I’m not mistaken

Which set of lengths are not the side lengths of a right triangle? (A-28, 45, 53) (B-13, 84, 85) (C-36, 77, 85) (D-16, 61, 65) [
nikklg [1K]
Side lengths 16, 61, and 65 are not part of a right triangle.

A right triangle's sides should follow this formula, C being the largest number:

a^{2} + b ^{2} = c^{2}

16^{2} = 256

61^{2} = 3721

65^{2} = 4225

256 + 3721 = 3977

3977  \neq 4225
