Because of these two reasons, almost no one thought this plan would actually work. So, in conclusion, Christopher's plan was to get to Asia by going far east of Europe, and his plan was exceptionally bold because of how much time the trip would take compared to other routes, and because of the fact that many people still believed the earth was flat, not a sphere.
