I. (distribute the -3 to the equation inside the parentheses) -15y-27-7y=4(y-4)-1. (-3x5y=-15y, -3x9=-27).

II. (distribute the 4 to the equation inside the parentheses) -15y-27-7y=4y-16-1. (4xy=4y, 4x(-4)=-16).

III. (combine like terms, -15y and -7y, and -16 and -1) -22y-27=4y-17. (-15y-7y=-22y and -16-1=-17).

IV. (isolate the variable, add 27 to both sides) -22y=4y+10. (-17+27=10).

V. (isolate the variable, subtract 4y from both sides) -26y=10. (-22y-4y=-26y).

VI. (isolate the variable, divide 10 by -26 to get y by itself) y=-0.3846.

Hope this helps!

-3(5y + 9) - 7y  = 4(y - 4) - 1
-15y - 27 - 7y = 4y - 16 - 1
-15y - 7y - 4y = -16 - 1 + 27
-26y = 10
y = 10 / -26 =  -5/13   answer

Since it's a local (a possible branch) hardware store, it's POSSIBLE BUT VERY UNLIKELY:
PROOF: Assume 100 clients/day are buying from this store, that means,
3,600 customer a month or 43,200 clients a year. The one-millionth customer will occur after 1,000,000/43,200 = 23 years. or it will be after 46 years if the average customer is 50/day. So it is possible but MOST UNLIKELY

Which equation can be solved using the expression -3 plus or minus the square root of (3)^2+4(10)(2)/2(10) for x?
monitta

Answer: B. 2=3x+10x^2

Step-by-step explanation:

The expression means the quadratic function equation.

B = 10x^2 + 3x -2 = 0

the equation is [-b ±√(b^2 -4ac)]/2a

b should be +3 to become -3 when it is plugged into the equation, and 'a' should be 10, and c should be -2.

Semmy [17]

Answer:

x = - 6, x = 6

Step-by-step explanation:

\frac{9}{x}  =  \frac{x}{4}  \\  \\ x \times x = 9 \times 4 \\  \\  {x}^{2}  = 36 \\  \\ x =   \pm\sqrt{36}  \\  \\ x =  \pm 6 \\  \\ x =  - 6,  \:  \: x = 6
