There is always a saying that 'Science is too young to question religion'. This is mainly because Science has just started compared to religion which was already established since the beginnings of men and in fact, in the process Science was created thru religion. However, we cannot deny, that Science on the modern day has gone beyond the realm of religion.

<em>How does modern science differ from faith? </em>

The main difference that modern science and faith have is their attitude towards evidence. Modern science has a great respect for evidence, and it generally believes that for a claim to be considered true, it should be backed up by concrete evidence. In order to acquire this, it relies on the <em>scientific method</em>.

On the other hand, faith defends the idea of believing in something even when no evidence is available. The power of faith comes from the fact that faith can survive even when everything points to the contrary.

<em>How do these compare in terms of teleological and cause-and-effect explanations?</em>

Modern science, in its search for evidence, has reached the conclusion that the physical world is rules by a series of laws, and that these can be discovered through <em>research</em> and <em>experimentation</em>. Moreover, it places little value on luck or coincidence and instead it tries to show connections and cause-and-effect relationships between natural phenomena.

On the other hand, faith is more accepting of the idea of inexplicable phenomena. It also does not argue that there is a connection between all events. Instead, it justifies most things by appealing to the will of a superior being.

lesantik [10]

Pablo thinks that the best monist objection to make against pluralism is that it provides the simplest sufficient ontology.

Monist is the view that there is only a single material object in existence. Monism is the metaphysical and theological view that all is one, and that there are no fundamental divisions, and a unified set of laws underlie all of nature.

On the other hand, Pluralism is a political philosophy, which is seen to permit the peaceful coexistence of different interests and lifestyles.

Monism is the doctrine that the answer to one or other of these questions is only one. Opposed to monism is the doctrine of pluralism, which says that there are many kinds of things.

Hence, the answer was given and explained above.

Alja [10]

Answer:

Jim, who is prejudiced against Jewish people, is likely to attribute a Jewish person’s stereotype-inconsistent actions, such as an act of philanthropy, to <u>seasonal causes</u>. In contrast, Jim is likely to attribute a Jewish person’s stereotype-consistent actions, such as self-interested behavior, to <u>dispositional causes.</u>.\

Explanation:

Dispositional attribution: It is based on a person's personality or characteristics. Internal characcteristics (personality traits) cause people to act the way they do

For example: I wrote a bad essay because I decided not to study

Situational Attribution: It is based on a person's situation or environment. External environment (Teacher, President , Police officer)  cause the people to act the way they do

For example: I wrote a bad essay because I didn't get the prompt.

Hence, Jim, who is prejudiced against Jewish people, is likely to attribute a Jewish person’s stereotype-inconsistent actions, such as an act of philanthropy, to <u>seasonal causes</u>. In contrast, Jim is likely to attribute a Jewish person’s stereotype-consistent actions, such as self-interested behavior, to <u>dispositional causes.</u>.\
