Suppose you have 100 ft of string to rope off a rectangular section for a bake sale at a school Fair. The function A=x^2+50x giv

es the area of the section in square feet, where x is the width in feet. What width gives you the maximum area you can rope off? What is the maximum area? What is the range of the function?

Answer:

Therefore the width is 25 feet for getting maximum area.

The maximum area of the rectangle is 625 square feet.

Therefore the range is 0≤A≤625.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given function is

A = - x²+50x

We know that ,

If y = ax²+bx+c

For the maximum x=-\frac{b}{2a}

Here a = -1 , b= 50 and c=0

Therefore the width x= -\frac{50}{2.(-1)} = 25

Therefore the width is 25 feet for getting maximum area.

The maximum area =[ -(25)²+50.25] square feet

                                 = 625 square feet

The area can not be negative and maximum area is 625 square feet.

Therefore the range is 0≤A≤625.

Find the Quetion of the line that passes through the points (1,6) and (5,2)
NemiM [27]

Answer:

y=-x+7

Step-by-step explanation:

Equation of straight line is given as

y-y_1=m(x-x_1)

where slope m is calculated as

m=\frac{y_2-y_1}{x_2-x_1}

<u>Here </u>

(x_1, y_1)=(1, 6) \ \ and \ \ (x_21, y_2) = (5, 2)

m = \frac{2 - 6}{5 - 1}\\m=\frac{- 4}{4} \\m=-1

<u>Equation of line that passes through the points (1,6) and (5,2)</u>

Proofs how do you solve them
blsea [12.9K]
Proofs are... well... just that. They are your proof for why a certain property works or what you did to show your work. So essentially, you just do math like normal, a proof is showing what you did and why it works.

What is the length of the ladder? It's 6 ft. from the house at the bottom and touches the wall 14 ft. up at the top. Simplify yo
Sergio039 [100]

Base leg (b) = 6

Other leg (a) = 14

Hypotenuse (c) = c

plug this into the equation above and solve for c (taking the square root to solve)  so:

142 + 62 = c2

232 = c2

15.23 = c (feet)

Hope this helps have a good day. :)
