<span>The European countries like Great Britain, France and Russia helped Greece gain its independence from the Ottoman Empire. These countries formed an alliance in response to the Greeks’ appeal for mediation and had sent fleets and army troops to fight off attacks from Turks allies. Great Britain had cut off Turks provisions in certain areas. These powerful countries had concluded the protocols on February 3, 1830 and created an independent Greek state under their protection. </span>
