Answer:

#1.)so tan θ = 1 / (-2\sqrt{2})  = - \sqrt{2}/2

and cos θ  = - 2 \sqrt{2}

#2.)

sin θ = -root(2)/root(3) =  - root(6) /3 = - \sqrt{6}/3

cos θ = -\sqrt{3}/3

tan θ = \sqrt{2}

Step-by-step explanation:

1.)  we know  sin(θ) = 1/3

and  tan θ  < 0

so to find cosθ  and tan θ

if tan θ < 0, then  θ  is is either quadrant 2 or 4.  since sine is positive, θ must be in quadrant 2

so  ...opposite side length=  1  , hypotenuse = 3,  adjacent leg = root(3^2 - 1)

adjacent leg = - 2 \sqrt{2}

so tan θ = 1 / (-2\sqrt{2})  = - \sqrt{2}/2

and cos θ  = - 2 \sqrt{2}

2.)   (cos θ)^2 = 1/3

cos θ = - 1/root(3)

but θ  is in quadrant 4,

triangle here  hypotenuse = root(3) ,

adjacent leg= -1,

opposite leg =root( (root(3))^2  - 1 ) =  root(3 - 1) = -root(2)

so

sin θ = -root(2)/root(3) =  - root(6) /3 = - \sqrt{6}/3

cos θ = -\sqrt{3}/3

tan θ = \sqrt{2}

Answer:  Graph D (bottom right corner)

======================================================

Explanation:

The equation y = 3x+3 is in slope intercept form y = mx+b

m = 3 = slope

b = 3 = y intercept

In this case, both the slope and y intercept are the same (though in general they tend not to be).

The positive slope value means the line goes uphill as you move from left to right. The positive y intercept means the diagonal line crosses the y axis somewhere above the horizontal x axis. Specifically, it crosses the y axis at y = 3

Graph D is the only graph that has such a line on it. Graphs A, B and C have the positive slope line where they have a negative y intercept, so we can rule them out.

You can use graphing tools such as Desmos or Geogebra to help confirm this answer. You could also make a table of values, and plot each point, to form the lines. Two points is the minimum amount needed to form any line.

The perimeter of a rectangle whose sides are of lengths (4m+7) units and (3m+2) units
34kurt

Answer:

  • 2(4m + 7) + 2(3m + 2)

Step-by-step explanation:

<u>We know that:</u>

  • Length = (4m + 7)
  • Breadth = (3m + 2)

The perimeter of a shape is the sum of its boundaries. Let's represent perimeter as p.

<u>Solution:</u>

  • p = (4m + 7) + (4m + 7) + (3m + 2) + (3m + 2)
  • => p = 2(4m + 7) + 2(3m + 2)

Hence, the algebraic expression on how to find the perimeter is 2(4m + 7) + 2(3m + 2).

In a particular month, Ezhil spent one-fifth of her salary on shopping. Two-fifth of the remaining she gave to her sister. If sh
Oxana [17]

Answer:

Salary = Rs23000

Step-by-step explanation:

Given

Shopping = \frac{1}{5}

Sister = \frac{2}{5}R

Left over = Rs11,040

Required

Her salary in that month

Given that she spent \frac{1}{5} of her salary on shopping, this implies that she has \frac{4}{5} of her salary left

From what's left, she gave her sister \frac{2}{5}

This means she gave her sister \frac{2}{5} * \frac{4}{5}

Sister = \frac{8}{25}

Calculating a fraction of what's left

Left over = 1 -Shopping - Sister

Left over = 1  - \frac{1}{5}- \frac{8}{25}

Left over = \frac{25 - 5 - 8}{25}

Left over = \frac{12}{25}

Recall that she has Rs11,040

This means that

\frac{12}{25} of Salary = Rs11,040

Multiply both sides by \frac{25}{12}

\frac{12}{25} * \frac{25}{12} * Salary = Rs11,040 * \frac{25}{12}

Salary = Rs11,040 * \frac{25}{12}

Salary = \frac{Rs276000}{12}

Salary = Rs23000

Hence, her salary for that month was Rs23000
