Answer:

#1.)so tan θ = 1 / (-2\sqrt{2})  = - \sqrt{2}/2

and cos θ  = - 2 \sqrt{2}

#2.)

sin θ = -root(2)/root(3) =  - root(6) /3 = - \sqrt{6}/3

cos θ = -\sqrt{3}/3

tan θ = \sqrt{2}

Step-by-step explanation:

1.)  we know  sin(θ) = 1/3

and  tan θ  < 0

so to find cosθ  and tan θ

if tan θ < 0, then  θ  is is either quadrant 2 or 4.  since sine is positive, θ must be in quadrant 2

so  ...opposite side length=  1  , hypotenuse = 3,  adjacent leg = root(3^2 - 1)

adjacent leg = - 2 \sqrt{2}

so tan θ = 1 / (-2\sqrt{2})  = - \sqrt{2}/2

and cos θ  = - 2 \sqrt{2}

2.)   (cos θ)^2 = 1/3

cos θ = - 1/root(3)

but θ  is in quadrant 4,

triangle here  hypotenuse = root(3) ,

adjacent leg= -1,

opposite leg =root( (root(3))^2  - 1 ) =  root(3 - 1) = -root(2)

so

sin θ = -root(2)/root(3) =  - root(6) /3 = - \sqrt{6}/3

cos θ = -\sqrt{3}/3

tan θ = \sqrt{2}

Are the triangles below similar? Is yes, explain how you know. If not, explain.
Alekssandra [29.7K]
Yes the triangles are similar.

There is a common rate of dilation from the second triangle to the first. Each side can be multiplied/divided by three to find the other length.

I hope is helps.

There are 10 coins. 9 are fair and one is double-headed.
Sergio039 [100]

Answer:

0.050328

Step-by-step explanation:

Given that there are 10 coins, out of which 9 are fair and one is double headed.

P(selecting fair coin) = 0.9 and P(selecting double headed coin) = 0.1

P(H/fair coin)= 0.5 and P(H/doube headed ) = 1

Probability of getting in 1 toss head = Prob of selecting fair coin and getting head+ Prob of selecting double headed and getting head

= 0.9*0.5+0.1*1\\=0.55

This will be constant p for 10 trials going to be done because coin is replaced each time.

Also there are only two outcomes

X no of heads in 5 flips is Binomial with (5, 0.55)

P(x=5) = Reqd probability

= 0.55^5\\=0.050328
