Why would the Europeans feel that colonization was good for the people?

History

They would feel this because they viewed themselves as the superior race. Using social darwinism to justify their colonization they would go and bear what they called "the white man's burden." They would use improvements in transportation and communication as a reason it was good for the colonized as well. There may have also been feelings of nationalism because of fear of other European nations taking up all the resources and colonies.

I n t r o d u c t i o nHan Fei (d. 233 BCE) was a student of the philosopher Xunzi (c. 310-c. 219 BCE), but abandoned Confucian philosophy in favor of the more pragmatic and hardheaded approach of men like Lord Shang (Shang Yang or Gongsun Yang, d. 338 BCE), whom we collectively label as “Legalists.” Han Fei worked as an official for the state of Qin until he was executed in 233 BCE, allegedly on charges manipulated by a fellow official, Li Si (d. 208 BCE), who was also formerly a fellow student under Xunzi. Han Fei is most famous, however, for having developed a thorough and systematic synthesis of Legalist and Daoist philosophy, which we see in the book which bears his name--a book of which he is possibly the real author, but which at any rate is accepted as a reasonably accurate representation of his thinking.D o c u me n t E x c e r p t s wi t h Q u e s t i o n s (Longer selection follows this section)From Sources of Chinese Tradition, compiled by Wm. Which of the following is true bout foreign and domestic affairs
Rom4ik [11]

Answer:

Here are the options:

They are completely separate types of policy issues that do not affect one another.

Leaders must consider how one type of policy may affect the other since they relate.

The president and Senate are the only groups making decisions on these policy issues.

Officials are separated by which type of policy they work on and ignore the other type.

The correct answer is : Leaders must consider how one type of policy may affect the other since they relate.

Explanation:  Domestic policy is a policy that relates directly to issues and activities within a country or nation and these issues are internal. It simply refers to how a nation or country conducts and runs its affairs. These issues are important in shaping and running the affairs of the society.

While foreign policy refers to the ways a government of a nation or country relates and runs its affairs in world politics. Foreign policy involves policies between two or more nations dealing with issues externally.  Such issues include  helping defenseless people or nations in times of war and natural disasters. Foreign affairs or policies also help in settling disputes among or between nations.
