The area of the region that is not shaded in the diagram is determined through the following solution:

<span>A = <span>(1 − (<span><span>60°/</span><span>360°</span></span>)*</span>π) * (10 ft ) ^<span>2</span></span> <span>A = <span>56*</span>π*100 [<span>ft2</span>]</span> <span><span>A = <span>250/3 </span>π [<span>ft2</span>]
A = 262 [ft2]</span></span>

We have y=x^{1/15}\implies x=y^{15}. The curves x=y and x=y^{15} intersect at y=0 and y=1, with y\ge y^{15} over 0\le y\le1.

\displaystyle2\pi\int_0^1y\left(y-y^{15}\right)\,\mathrm dy=2\pi\int_0^1\left(y^2-y^{16}\right)\,\mathrm dy=2\pi\left(\frac13-\frac1{17}\right)=\boxed{\frac{28\pi}{51}}

Which of the following best describes the relationship between (x-2) and the polynomial 2x^3+x^2-3
pantera1 [17]
If (x - 2) is a factor of 2x³ + x² - 3 then for the value of x = 2 the polynominal is equal zero.
Substitute:
2 · 2³ + 2² - 3 = 2 · 8 + 4 - 3 = 16 + 4 - 3 = 17 ≠ 0
Answer: B) (x - 2) is not a factor.

Mary stated that 2.01 x 10⁶ is less than 4.8 x 10⁴ because 2.01 is less than 4.8. what was mary's mistake ?
katrin [286]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Scientific notation is always written as a number between 1 and 9.9999999 repeating. There follows a power of 10. I'm not sure which answer would help you see it clearer but

4.8 * 10^4 the decimal is shifted 4 places the right which is 48000 where you have no numbers, you use zeros.

2.01 * 10^6 means that you shift the decimal 6 places to the right.

2010000

So 2 million is larger than 48 thousand.

The other way to do it is just to look at the power. 6 is more than 4. 6 describes the number of places you move. So does 4. 6>4 so that's the larger number.
