If a spaniard says they will complete a task"manana" why will it rarely happen the next day

They may forget or something will happen to cause them to not do it.

In my experience, (with my mother being Spanish) Spanish people are pretty all over the place and forget tasks pretty easily or move on to other ones. P.S it's mañana (manyana) :-)
