(Class is dismissed, everyone is leaving the classroom. Manuel turns around suddenly, grazes Addie's shoulder awkwardly to get her attention—unnecessarily because she's always attentive of him.)

Manuel: Hey Addie, what do you say, er, I mean, would you like to go to the prom with me?

(Addie freezes in place and opens her mouth and her eyes to their full capacities in super-slow-motion. A moment of pure silence.)

Addie: Whoa.

Manuel: 'Whoa' as in yes or 'Whoa' as in no?
