Adam mistakenly divided his test scores 6 times instead of 7.
So if the average yielded 84 when divided by a 6, then you multiply by 6
84×6=504
So you divide 504 by 7 (the correct amount of test scores)
504÷7=72 which is often equivalent to a B-
72 is Adam's grade point average.

Number Of Tests=7

6*84=6(80+4)=480+24=504

----------------------------------------

504/7=72

--------------------------------------

Adam's correct average test score is 72.

Y+9=-3(x-2) standard form
madam [21]

Hello!

"Standard form" looks like Ax + By = C.

Start by carrying out the indicated multiplication:

y + 9=-3(x-2) becomes y + 9 = -3x + 6

We want to group the x and y terms on the left and the constants on the right.  Achieve this by adding 3x to both sides, obtaining:  3x + y + 9 = 6.  Next, subtract 9 from both sides:  3x + y = -3.

The given equation, in standard form, is 3x + y = -3.

Add the following polynomials, then place the answer in the proper location on the grid. Write the answer in descending powers o
tresset_1 [31]
ANSWER
13 {x}^{3} - 2 {x}^{2} + 3x + 13

EXPLANATION

The first polynomial is
5 {x}^{3} + 3 {x}^{2} - 5x + 4

The second polynomial is
8 {x}^{3} - 5 {x}^{2} + 8x + 9

If we add the two polynomials we obtain,

(5 {x}^{3} + 3 {x}^{2} - 5x + 4) + (8 {x}^{3} - 5 {x}^{2} + 8x + 9)

Next we group like terms to obtain,

5 {x}^{3} + 8 {x}^{3}+ 3 {x}^{2} -5 {x}^{2} - 5x + 8x + 9 + 4

We simplify the to obtain,

13{x}^{3} -2{x}^{2} + 3x + 13

This is the sum of the two polynomials in descending powers of
x

Descending means from the highest power to the least.
