It is the active phase in which the symptoms of schizophrenia become readily evident. The active phase is also known as the acute phase, in which the patient experiences the most severe symptoms. In schizophrenia, the patients go through delusions, and extremely disorganized speech and behaviors. During this phase,  the patients' health is worse and appears to be psychotic.
