Answer:

x= 4

y = 6

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:

RSU is equilateral triangle

RT bisects US

To Find:

x and y

Solution:

Step 1: Finding the value of x

In an equilateral triangle,

All the sides are equal

Since RT bisects US

US =  3x+3x

Also RU  =  4x+8

Then ,

we know that

RU = US

4x+8 = 3x+3x

4x+8 = 6x

4x+ 8 -6x = 0

-2x+8 = 0

-2x = -8

x = \frac{-8}{-2}

x = 4

Step 2: Finding the value of y

In an equilateral triangle,

All the angles are equal  to 60 degrees

Then \angle URS = 30^{\circ}

But RT bisects US

Then

\angle URS = \angle URT +\angle TRS = 60^{\circ}

where

\angle URT and \angle RTS are equal

So

\angle RTS   = 30^{\circ}

In the figure

30^{\circ}  = 5y^{\circ}

y^{\circ}= \frac{30^{\circ}}{5}

y^{\circ} = 6

Minus a from both sides
x-a=-2by²
times both sides by -1
a-x=2by²
divide both sides by 2b
\frac{a-x}{2b}=y^2
sqrt both sides
y= \sqrt{\frac{a-x}{2b}}

How to form a polynomial with given zeros and degree and multiplicity calculator
ohaa [14]

Answer:

Taking P(x) = x³-12x-16 as an example

Step-by-step explanation:

For a polynomial, if

x = a is a zero of the function, then (x − a) is a factor of the function.

We have two unique zeros:

−2 and 4. However, −2 has a multiplicity of 2, which means that the factor that correlates to a zero of −2 is represented in the polynomial twice.

Following how it's constructed

zero at -2, multiplicity 2

zero at 4, multiplicity 1

p(x)=x−(−2))²(x−4)¹

Thus,p(x)=(x+2)²(x−4)

Expand: p(x)=(x²+4x+4)(x−4)

p(x) =x³−12x−16
