So divide the second equation by 2
x-2y=3
the first equation is
x+3y=3
subsitute
3=3 so therefor
x-2y=x+3y
subtract x from both sides
-2y=3y

add 2y to both sides
0=5y
ofviously y=0 so subsitute
x-2y=3
x-(2)0=3
x-0=3
x=3

x=3
y=0

Subtract the second equation from double the first equation:

2x+6y-2x-(-4y)=0

10y=0

Therefore, y=0.  Substituting this into the first equation, we see that:

x+3(0)=3

x=3

Therefore, x=3.  The solution to this system is x=3, y=0, or (3, 0).

Dori and Malory are tracking their steps taken as a health goal. Dori leaves her house at 12:00 p.m. and walks at 50 steps per m
gladu [14]
Let n = minutes since 12:00 pm when Malory catches up to Dori.

Dori travels
(50 steps/min)*(n minutes) = 50n steps

Malory begins walking at 12:20 pm, so she walks for (n - 20) minutes. She travels
(90 steps/min)*(n - 20  min) = 90n - 1800 steps

Equate the steps traveled by Dori and Malory.
90n - 1800 = 50n
40n = 1800
n = 45 min

The time corresponding to n = 45 min is 12:45 pm

Answer: 12:45 pm

Thanks, & yes how did you get that

Hello <span>Vmcdowell43

The word Thanks is a shorter way of saying Thank you. Many people use it because it is easier.

The word yes is a simple way to agree with something.

Hope that helps!

What is the equation of a line that has a y-intercept of 4 and an x-intercept of -2?
Furkat [3]

Answer:

y = 2x + 4

Step-by-step explanation:

Two points on this line are (-2, 0) and (0, 4).  Going from the first to the second, x increases by 2 (this is the 'run') and y increases by 4 ('rise').

Thus, the slope of this line is m = rise / run =  4/2 = 2

Using the slope-intercept formula, we get y = mx + b = 2x + b

Let x = -2 and y = 0 to find b:  0 = 2(-2) + b, so b = 4, and the desired equation is then:

y = 2x + 4

N76 [4]

Answer:

A. Men had less distress from nausea on average than women but we can not determine if this is a significant difference.

Step-by-step explanation:

Working based on the information given, the mean values of each group with with men having an average score of 1.02 and women have an average of 1.79 this reveals that distressing nausea on average is higher in women than in men . However, to test if there is a significant difference would be challenging as the information given isn't enough to make proceed with the test as the standard deviations of the two groups aren't given and no accompanying sample data is given.
