The answer is: 28.59 (letter B)

Solution:

Total cost before tax and discount:
9.99 x 3 = 29.97
total discount:
29.97 x 0.10 = 2.997

total cost - discount:
29.97-2.997=26.973

Tax:
26.973 X 0.06 =1.61838

Total cost plus tax:
26.973 + 1.61838 =28.59138 round to only 2 decimals: 28.59

Answer:

You go to the electronics store to buy 3 CDS. Each CD'S original cost is $9.99. You have a coupon for 10% off and the sales tax is 6%. What is your total purchase cost? A.31.77 B.26.97 C.28.59 D.30.99 I kept getting more than what is given for the answer choices please help? Thanks

Step-by-step explanation:

1.- Unit price of the CD x the total amount: $ 9.99 x 3 = $ 29.97

2.- We have a discount of 10% = 0.10 which would be: 29.97 x 0.10 = $ 2,997, and that must be subtracted from the total amount: $ 29.97 - $ 2,997 = $ 26,973 $

3.- The sales tax is 6% = 0.06 which would be: $ 26,973 x 0.06 = $ 1,61838, and to be added to the previous amount: $ 26,973 + $ 1,61838 = 28 , $ 59138

4.- Rounding and to leave only 2 decimals would be: $ 28.59, always remembering that if the next number, instead of being a 1 was a 5, instead of 28.59, it would be: 28.60.

The answer is: C.28.59

The measure of the angles
Gre4nikov [31]
Answer: a = 150
              b = 30

Remember: supplementary angles always add up to 180 degrees. Therefore, using this information, you can easily form your equation.

Form your equation. Since a is five times b, a = 5b.
5b + b = 180               Combine like terms
6b = 180                     Divide by 6 to both sides
b = 30                         Answer!

Substitute (30) for b in a = 5b to find a.
a = 5(30)                    Simplify
a = 150                      Answer!
