The states were represented by pillars in a foundation because<u> it was the manner to represent the Constitution ratificacion process of every state, and also the pillars depicted that the United States was founded in the 13 pillars, that represented the 13 states together. </u>Whereby in September 17, 1787, the Constitucional Assemble approved and acepted the new Constitution, then on September 28 the Congress ordered to the state legislatures to convoke assemblies to ratify the Constitution in every state, but the article specified that nine states had to ratify the Constitution before it was implemented, so there were carried out the assemblies, but some states were against the Constitution, only 5 ratified it <em>(Delaware, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Georgia and Connecticut)</em> and due to that, with the objective to promote the ratification by the other States, on January 16, 1788, was published the first one of the Federal Pillars <em>(That were a succession of prints issued for several months) </em>where was showed 5 pillars refferring to the 5 states that had ratified the Constitution until that moment, and then in June 11, 1788, was printed the second one where 3 states <em>(Massachusetts, Maryland and South Carolina) </em> in addition to the previous 5, ratified the Constitution. And finally, on August 2nd, 1788, appeared in the third print the New Hampshire, Virginia and New York pillars, representing the 3 states in addition to the 8 previous that ratified the U.S. Constitution.
