The area of a circle is:

$A =\pi r^{2}$

You can change the equation to equal r, to do so you divide $\pi$ on both sides, then you square root both sides.

$A = \pi r^{2}$

$\frac{A}{\pi} = r^{2}$

$\sqrt{\frac{A}{\pi} } = r$

Since you know the area, you can plug it in.

$\sqrt{\frac{254.4696}{\pi } } = r$

$\sqrt{81} = r$ (about 81)

9 = r

9 in² = radius

Unfortunately, no you aren't correct. However, I see how you made the mistake and you were very close to the correct answer!

I assume you chose 81 based on 254.4696/3.14 getting 81? So that is a great approach to solving, but you needed to take the last step and ask yourself "what multiplied by itself is 81?". That would be 9, an important thing to look back at is the formula for A (area).

Area = Pi x radius squared

By dividing 254.4649 by Pi you received the squared radius. Long story short your answer is $9in.^{2}$ .
