The Columbian Exchange also affected the Native Amercinas and the Europeans. The number of diseases transmitted by Europeans and initially the mortality rate has increased. Over the long term, however, birth rates in Native Americans have increased due to better education, advancement in agricultural production, new technologies that have enabled more yields. In addition, new species of plants, animals are presented to Native Americans as well as new techniques of house construction and new techniques useful in life in general.
