No, not all genes are advantageous. For example, many diseases are genetic like Huntington’s Disease, which causes nerve cells in the brain to break down over time. This is not an advantage for the person who has it.

The human genome codes for 20,000 to 25,000 proteins, but any given cell might produce only 5,000 different proteins. how is thi
Musya8 [376]

This is because not all genes are expressed at the same time, so not all the proteins are present at a certain moment. The mechanisms that cell uses to control gene expression are called regulation of the gene expression. Thanks to regulation of the genes, cells have the ability to increase or decrease the production of specific gene products such as proteins. This property is important for the adaptability of an organism because it allows the cell to express protein when needed.

Which statement describes how enzymes and substrates are related? The enzyme influences the speed of change from substrate to pr
azamat

Correct answer: A). The enzyme influences the speed of change from substrate to product

The enzymes are the biological catalyst that speed up the rate of chemical reactions by decreasing the activation energy of the reaction pathway.

They increase the speed of change of substrate to the product and it remains unchanged in the reaction. Hence, it can be used again and again.

Enzymes are highly specific in nature, only a specific substrate binds to the enzyme's active site. Hence, a particular enzyme is required to catalyze a reaction.
