Answer with explanation:

It is given that:

Rider dribbles the ball down 1/3 of the basketball court on the first day of practice.

Also each day after that he dribbled 1/3 of the way more than he did day before.

Let the length of the basketball court be 'x' units.

So, in particular we choose x=1 units.

i.e. in table form we can represent the distance he dribbles as:

Day 1                    1/3

Day 2                   2/3

Day 3                   3/3=1

Also, it could be represented in the number line we can see with the help of the figure attached to the answer.

Five thousand raffle tickets are sold for $5 each. 50 winnings numbers will be chosen, 40 of which will win $100 each and 10 of
Allisa [31]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Given

there are 50 winning number out of which 40 get $ 100 each and 10 wins $ 1000 .

let x denotes the winning from a randomly selected ticket

x=100\ with\ Probability\ \frac{40}{5000}

x=1000\ with\ Probability\ \frac{10}{5000}

Expected value is given by

E(x)=100\times \frac{40}{5000}+1000\times \frac{10}{5000}

E(x)=0.8+2=2.8

and Expected return is given by

=100\times \frac{40}{5000}+1000\times \frac{10}{5000}-5

=2.8-5=$ -2.2

If function and inverse be

\\ \rm\longmapsto f(x)\:and\:f^{-1}(x)

Both will seem to be opposite and similar .

Look at the first one

It is showing like 1 is function and other one is its inverse(Attachment )

Hence 1st one is the answer
