Also each day after that he dribbled 1/3 of the way more than he did day before.

Let the length of the basketball court be 'x' units.

So, in particular we choose x=1 units.

i.e. in table form we can represent the distance he dribbles as:

Day 1                    1/3

Day 2                   2/3

Day 3                   3/3=1

Also, it could be represented in the number line we can see with the help of the figure attached to the answer.
