Some of the events leading up to the Boston Massacre are noted below. British troops had been stationed around Boston, so that officials representing the British crown could enforce unpopular legislation and this created even more tension. A mob had formed around the British soldiers and shouted verbal abuse at them and harassed them. This eventually led to the Boston Massacre.
Westing house invented the air brake, which stopped all the railroad cars at once. This increased safety and allowed longer, faster trains.
The former slave owner suggested a contract to the freedman. Once the slaves were freed many white people were angry and intended to murder or harm colored people. It would be extremely difficult for colored people to find housing let alone a job. He suggested the contract as an offer of protection, and the bare necessities to survive. In return the freedman would work very hard for unfair wages.
