S the BEST description of the impact of Shays' Rebellion on American politics?

History

mylen [45]3 years ago

Shays’ Rebellion further underlined to Washington and other American leaders the weakness of the Articles of Confederation. Although plans for a Constitutional Convention were already under way, the uprising in Massachusetts led to further calls for a stronger national government and influenced the ensuing debate in Philadelphia that led to the drafting of the U.S. Constitution in the summer of 1787.

According to Edward J. Larson, author of “The Return of George Washington,” the rebellion “haunted Washington” and was “perhaps an essential, final straw” in pulling him out of retirement to serve as president of the Constitutional Convention. “Regardless of their cause, the commotions sufficiently shocked Washington to set him on the road to Philadelphia,” Larson writes.

What put the United States in the middle of tensions between britain and france in the 1800's?
ivolga24 [154]
During the 1800s due to an economic and military weakness of the U.S compared to its neighbors the British, French and European rivals, the United States foreign policy makers sought diplomatic means to counter European presence.
The U.S diplomacy aimed at preventing France and Britain from accessing the control of more colonies in Latin America and Mexico which were a part of a declining Spanish empire.
Foreign policy goals previously focussed on gaining colonies and expansion to new territories, but, changed to developing commercial empires, limit the influence o the Soviet (USSR) and encourage more significant economic and political freedom.

Who helped Lenin to reach Russia in disguise? A Great Britain B France C Germany D Belgium
icang [17]
The correct answer should be C. Germany.

This has yet to be proven though because even though he was accused of being financed and collaborating with Germans, many of his party members including him defended themselves as proponents of anti-german-nationalism.
