Is the fraction (x-3)/4? If so...
(x-3)/4=12
x-3=12x4
x-3=48
x=48+3
x=51

14+3x=8x-3(x-4)
14+3x=8x-3x+12
14+3x=5x+12
14-12=5x-3x
2=2x
1=x

22x+11=4x-7
22x-4x=-7-11
18x=-18
x= -1
