The annual county being held for 5 and 1/2 days is just extra info you dont to know. Just use the rest of the info already given. It says the ride needs to make 1000 "at least" so put 1000 on the right side of the equal sign.And now it says the operator has to pay safety inspection and the ride rental fee so add $65 with $200. So you need to now put the variable p somewhere in the equation. It gives you that each person has to pay 6 dollars. so you can put 6p in the equation. (sorry if all this sounds wierd but its easier to explain face to face) Now in the final equation your left with "6p+265=1000". so now you just move everything to the right side and leave the p behind and you have the equation for p :)

Answer:

  a(n) = 1/2(-8)^(n-1)

Step-by-step explanation:

The general term of a geometric sequence is ...

  a(n) = a(1)×r^(n-1)

where a(1) is the first term, and r is the common ratio.

Here, the first term is a(1) = 1/2. The common ratio is the ratio of any two sequential terms: r = 32/-4 = -8. Then the explicit formula is ...

  a(n) = 1/2(-8)^(n-1)

What equation results from completing the square and then factoring x^2+4x=7
Gekata [30.6K]

Answer: x=−2+√11 or x=−2−√11

Step-by-step explanation:

x2+4x−7=7−7

x2+4x−7=0

For this equation: a=1, b=4, c=-7

1x2+4x+−7=0

Step 2: Use quadratic formula with a=1, b=4, c=-7.

x=

−b±√b2−4ac

x=

−(4)±√(4)2−4(1)(−7)

2(1)

x=

−4±√44

A box has 16 candies.12 red and 4 yellow.If you were picking candies from the box without looking.How many candies would you hav
jeka57 [31]

We want to get the probability of randomly picking two candles of the same color. We will see that this probability is 0.6

First, the thing that we know is that there are 16 candles, 12 red and 4 yellow.

The probability of getting a red candle in the first pick is given by the quotient between the number of red candles and the total number of candles:

  • p = 12/16 = 3/4

The probability of getting another red candle is computed in the same way, but now there are 11 red candles and 15 candles in total:

  • q = 11/15

The joint probability is given by the product of the two individual probabilities:

P = p*q = (3/4)*(11/15) = 33/60 = 0.55

Now we must do the same thing but with the yellow candles, the probability of getting a yellow candle in the first draw is:

  • p = 4/16 = 1/4

For the second candle we have:

  • q = 3/15 = 1/5

The joint probability is:

P' = p*q = (1/4)*(1/5) = 1/20 = 0.05

Then the probability of getting two candles of the same color is the sum of the two above:

P'' = 0.55 + 0.05 = 0.6
