By devaluating the bolivar, the president of venezuela has.... ( This is the question)

By devaluing the Bolivar, the president of Venezuela has artificially decreased the value of the national currency.

What this does it make it more expensive to buy US dollars. In the last 2-3 years, there has been a flight of billion of US dollars out of Venezuela due to the economic disaster looming in the country.

By making it more expensive to buy US Dollars, the President of Venezuela is hoping to decrease the flight of money from the country and protect local reserves.

To what extent this actually works, we will have to see. In many developed countries or countries with a healthy economy, such a strategy might work. However, in the case of Venezuela, the economy is so bad, that even the devaluation of the Bolivar might not help solve much.

By devaluating the bolivar, the president of Venezuela has....
1) he has brought the official value of Bolivar closer to the actual value - before this, the black market value was a lot lower than the actual value2) as a result, he might have actually made the Bolivar more valuable, because before the difference between the official and black market value made people avoid using the Bolivar and exchange the goods using dollars rather than bolivars

How did discrimination against Africa Americans in the North differ from discrimination in the south?
LiRa [457]

Answer:

Northern states were more against slavery while the south was more pro-slavery because they felt that they needed slaves to, manage farms and plantations growing indigo, rice and tobacco. The south was very dependent on plantations and slaves while the north was dependent on factories. Later in history the 13th amendment was passed, this was supposed to officially end slavery, to get around this people in the south created "Black Codes" or "Jim Crow Laws" which were made to limit African American freedom. Discrimination still occurred in northern states but was less harsh than it was in the south. This is partially due to the black minority in northern states. I really hope this helps...
