1. The invention of the sewing machine took the jobs of women working in clothing and fabric factories. Only few women were needed now to operate the machines.

2. The sewing machine also caused physical damage. one could stitch their fingers together, gradually loose eyesight, and slowly obtain arthritis.

3. Many of these people (mostly girls) started working in sewing factories around the age of 12, and worked in those factories for the rest of their lives.
Thus consuming their time and energy without truly living.

Negative impacts of the sewing machine differs for most people. Some common problem are:

Destruction of eyesight- this is due to the string of the needle...when your pushing the spring into the needle thingy[idk it's nane]

Destruction of the nervous system- the reaction from the constant moving of the sewing machine disrupts the normal flow of the nervous system

Decrease your posture - this is due to the 'hitching' of the back

Increase the risk of disease such as 'gas' - persons who normal sews do not eat on time because of the amount of sewing they do per day

About how many different cultural groups were there in north america before europeans arrived?.
Umnica [9.8K]

There were around 25 recognized different cultural groups in North America before Europeans arrived.

What are cultural groups?

 • A cultural group, also known as ethnicity, is a collection of individuals who identify as one another based on characteristics that set them apart from other groups.
 • These characteristics may include shared traditions, ancestry, language, history, society, culture, nation, or manners of treatment in their local community. Ethnicity is distinct from the related idea of races, while the terms are occasionally used synonymously, especially in contexts of ethnic nationalism.
 • Ethnicity can be seen as either a societally imposed or an inherited construct. A person's ethnic identity is typically determined by their shared cultural background, ancestry, origin myth, history, country, language, dialect, symbolic systems including religion, mythology, and ritual, food, attire, or physical characteristics.

What three options did Kennedy's staff consider as a response to Soviet missiles headed to Cuba? Sink any Soviet transports. Tak
Ludmilka [50]

The correct answers are as followed:

1) Take out all the missile sites - This would allow the immediate threat of the medium range ballistic missiles in Cuba to be disabled.

2) Conduct a military invasion- The goal of this strategy was to take over the sites where Soviet weapons already existed in order to prevent them from becoming fully functional.

3) Run a blockade or quarantine - This blockade/quarantine would stop future Soviet missiles from entering Cuba. However, it was a temporary solution and would do nothing to the missiles already in Cuba.

Ultimately, President Kennedy goes with a quarantine of Cuba. He uses the word quarantine instead of blockade because the term blockade insinuates an act of war. Both the US and Soviet Union at this time were trying to prevent an all out war.
