1. The invention of the sewing machine took the jobs of women working in clothing and fabric factories. Only few women were needed now to operate the machines.
2. The sewing machine also caused physical damage. one could stitch their fingers together, gradually loose eyesight, and slowly obtain arthritis.
3. Many of these people (mostly girls) started working in sewing factories around the age of 12, and worked in those factories for the rest of their lives. Thus consuming their time and energy without truly living.
