Answer:

9.08

Explanation:

pOH is defined as the negative logarithm of the concentration of hydroxide ions.

Thus,

pOH = - log [OH⁻]

Given that:- [OH⁻]  = 1.2 × 10⁻⁵ M

Putting in the above equation as:-

pOH = - log 1.2 × 10⁻⁵ = 4.92

Also, pH + pOH = 14

So, pH = 14 - 4.92 = 9.08

pH scale generally runs from 1 to 14 where pH = 7 represents neutral medium, pH < 7 represents acidic medium and pH > 7 represents basic medium.

algol [13]

Answer:

The voltage or potential difference

Explanation:

What makes current flow in a circuit is the voltage or the potential difference.

This force is supplied by the battery or the mains electrical circuit.

  • Every circuit requires the voltage to drive current through
  • When a circuit is complete, the battery is able to overcome any resistance by the generating enough voltage which is the force to drive the current through.

Alice added sodium chloride to water and stirred the water for several minutes. Alice is most likely trying to demonstrate that
SashulF [63]

Answer is: 2. can dissolve.

Ionic compounds separates into particles (ions) in water because of their ionic bond.

For example sodium chloride is ionic compound and strong electrolyte and dissociates in water on hydrated sodium cations and chlorine anions:

NaCl(aq) → Na⁺(aq) + Cl⁻(aq).

Ionic bond is the electrostatic attraction between oppositely charged ions (cations and anions).

16. Explain why antifreeze is used in vehicle radiators. Use your knowledge of the properties of
Fynjy0 [20]

Answer:

Antifreeze is whats used to keep your engine cool without freezing.

Explanation:

it keeps the engine from overheating.

It also prevents corrosion.

Here is a quote from google "Antifreeze works because the freezing and boiling points of liquids are “colligative” properties. This means they depend on the concentrations of “solutes,” or dissolved substances, in the solution. A pure solution freezes because the lower temperatures cause the molecules to slow down"

That quote is from "The Science Behind Antifreeze"
