A 12.0-kg block is pushed across a rough horizontal surface by a force that is angled 30.0◦ below the horizontal. The magnitude

of the force is 75.0 N and the acceleration of the block as it is pushed is 3.20 m/s2. What is the magnitude of the contact force exerted on the block by the surface?

Answer:

157.36 N

Explanation:

Contact force is the force which is created due to contact and it is applied on the contact point . The force applied by body on the surface is its weight .

If R be the reaction force of the ground

R = mg + F son30

= 12 x 9.8 + 75 sin 30

= 117.6 + 37.5

= 155.10 N .

friction force = f

Net force in forward direction = F cos 30 - f  = ma

75cos 30 - f = 12 x 3.2

f = 65 - 38.4

= 26.6 N

Total force on the surface =√( f² + R² )

√ (26.6² + 155.1²)

= √707.56 + 24056²

=√ 24763.57

= 157.36 N.

contact force = 157.36 N .

At which point is the velocity the greatest?
zhuklara [117]

Answer:

a) The velocity is maximum at B.

b) The velocity is 0 at C and A.

c) The acceleration will be 0 at B

d) The acceleration is maximum at C and A.

Explanation:

In the attached image, we can see two sketches the first one is based on the principle os energy conservation and we can appreciate easily when the velocity is the greatest and when it will be 0.

In points A and C we have the maximum potential energy because the pendulum is at the highest elevation with respect to the reference point. And when the pendulum is in point B all the potential energy had been transformed into kinetic energy and therefore we will have the maximum velocity at this point.

For the acceleration analysis, we see the second sketch, this one is showing a free body diagram of the pendulum when it is forming a theta angle with respect to the vertical plane. And applying Newton's second law and contemplating the forces that are acting over the pendulum we have the equation showed in the image.

This equation shows that the acceleration which has the same direction as the velocity depends on the sin(theta) and we know that the equation will be zero (0) when the angle theta is 0. It means the acceleration will be 0 at point B. And maximum at points C and A.

What is Physics? How is Physics used in your everyday life? Give at least two examples and explain your answer. You need at leas
NNADVOKAT [17]

Answer:

Physics is a brand of science that deals with nature, matter, and energy. Physics is used in the everyday world because we have simple objects such as levers that use physics. we also have Newton's law of transportation that manipulate everyday objects making them move, so without physics many objects wouldn't move.
