While we were driving, we heard a loud bang. The car had a flat tire. My dad steered the car to the shoulder on the freeway, and he and my older brother Kyle got out to change the tire. While they were changing the tire, it started to rain. Dad and Kyle got soaking wet. After they finished, Dad and Kyle got into the car, and we drove on. We arrived at the mission at 12:30 and found a parking spot. A large crowd of people was waiting for the swallows to arrive at the mission. Of course, it stopped raining. We waited for two hours, but no birds came. My sisters became restless. Finally my Dad said, "Let's go, they aren't coming this year." As we walked out to the parking lot, my sister Abby looked up. "Look at all the birds!" she exclaimed. It was indeed the swallows. And to think we almost drove away and missed the swallows' return to Capistrano.
