Answer:

D) rebuilding the southern economy

Explanation:

The main goal of the Reconstruction was to reform the economic, social and political outset of the Southern states. First, the economy of the Southern states was not diverse and depended on farming which would drive the newly free African Americans to work at the same place they worked as slaves.

The Union had a plan that allowed the Southern States to form new governments and pass new states constitutions and elect new representatives, but now the African Americans also had the right to vote and participate.

What factors led the wartime alliance between the United States and the Soviet Union to disintegrate into the Cold War?
allsm [11]
The other allies (England, France, etc) were too war-weary and busy rebuilding their countries to really challenge them. Germany reneged on a deal regarding splitting conquered territory North and East of Germany with Russia, so Russia switched sides. Later, NATO and the UN would drive the wedge even further, Russia shut out of NATO and constantly overridden on the UN Security Council. Germany and Russia were initially allies, like-minded in their expansionist intentions. It was an alliance of convenience mostly.
