Please help with one question :) Design a new cereal box that will hold the same amount of cereal but reduce manufacturing costs

. Prove that your new design holds the same amount but can be manufactured more cheaply.
The original box was a rectangular prism and had the surface area of 290inches^2 and a volume of 264in^2

the new box needs to be with the cube formulas.. I know that the surface area is supposed to be less and the volume is supposed to be the same between the two. someone please help me solve this?

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

New cereal box is in the form of a cube.

So from the formula of volume of cube a a³

Where a is the side of the cube.

This volume is equal to the volume of the original box

a³ = 264 inch³

a = 6.415 inch

Now the surface area of the box will be

S = 6a²

S = 6 × (6.415)² = 246.91 inch²

Which is less than the surface area of the original box.

Therefore, manufacturing cost of the new cereal box will be less.

Now.. notice the picture below

it has a front-and-back of 11x4
it has a left-and-right of 6x4
and a top-and-bottom of 6x11

now, if the Surface Area is less than 290in², then is cheaper to manufacture, because it uses less material to make the box

Tickets for an American Baseball League game for 3 adults and 3 children cost less than $75, while tickets for 2 adults and 4 ch

No, the cost of 1 adult ticket cannot be $ 20 and the cost of 1 children ticket is not $ 8.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let us assume the cots of ticket for 1 adult = $ x

Let us assume the cots of ticket for 1 children = $ y

So, the cost of ticket for 3 adults = 3 x ( Cost of 1 adult ticket) = 3 x

The cost of ticket for 3 children = 3 x ( Cost of 1 children ticket) = 3 y

Also, given the combined cost of 3 adult and children ticket is less than $75.

⇒ 3 x + 3 y < 75 ... (1)

Similarly, the cost of ticket for 2 adults = 2 x

The cost of ticket for 4 children = 4 y

⇒ 2 x + 4 y < 62 ... (2)

Now, solving for the values of x and y, we get:

3 x + 3 y < 75 or, x + y < 25 ⇒ x = 25 - y ( substitute in 2)

2 x + 4 y < 62 or, x + 2 y < 31

⇒ 25 - y + 2 y < 31

or, y + 25 < 31

or, y < 6

⇒ x = 25 - 6 = 19

or, x < 19

So, the cost of 1 adult ticket is x and is less than $19.

The cost of 1 child ticket is y and is less than $6.

Hence, by above statement, NO the cost of 1 adult ticket can not be $ 20 and the cost of 1 children ticket is not $ 8.

You plant flowers in your garden and only 75% of them sprout how many can you predict to sprout if you plant 20 seeds?
SSSSS [86.1K]
Well basically by reading this question, I believe that if 75% sprout of the 20 seeds your equation would look like this 20(0.75) 0.75 is basically a simplified version of the 75% just written as a decimal so basically your answer would be 15 seeds ( so I believe you will be able to predict that 15 seeds will sprout! Let me know if this was either, helpful or non- helpful! I hope you have done a wonderful job!
