P=2(L+W)  and P=34 so

2(L+W)=34

L+W=17 so we can say

L=17-W

A=LW using L from above

A=(17-W)W

A=17W-W^2 and A=30 so

30=17W-W^2

W^2-17W+30=0

W^2-2W-15W+30=0

W(W-2)-15(W-2)=0

(W-15)(W-2)=0

So the dimensions of the rectangle are 15 meters by 2 meters.

Collins Middle School has 240 sixth grade students. If the sixth grade is 30% of the total school, how many students are in the
Masteriza [31]

Answer:

800

Step-by-step explanation:

We can set up a proportion using the information we are given. We know that 240 students corresponds to 30% and that the total number of students, x, corresponds to 100%

\frac{240}{x} = \frac{30}{100}

Cross multiply and solve:

240 * 100 = 30x

24000 = 30x

800 = x

P(x) = x^2 - 1
q(x) = 5(x - 1)
(p - q)(x) = p(x) - q(x) = (x^2 - 1) - 5(x - 1)
