Which tense shows progression or continuation of actions or states of being?

I was slightly uncertain about this one, as it came down to two logical answers.  These answers are Present and Future tense, as Present shows continuation and any progression that may or may not have occurred assuming you are aware of the past, but Future tense does the same given it is on a linear timeline where flashbacks are common and the period the narrator resides is uncertain.  I will just say my answer is Present, however, as that makes the most sense given no context.  I hope this helps, have a nice day! :)
