It is used because of their flat surfaces. Oracle bones also bear the earliest form of ancient Chinese writing which also includes historically significant information. Aside from the oracle bones, the Shang Dynasty also used a mask called tao ties which was a bronze vessel created with animal masks. It is believed to become fancy as time passes.</span>
