The differences in Jeremy's communication illustrate the importance of context in determining behavior and communication.

Explanation:

The context is defined as the statement or idea which helps in assessing or understanding the behavior of a person.

The term context refers to the words or ideas that help in providing us the information to evaluate and understand the ideas in the passage.

In the above scenario, Jeremy was found to be polite and courteous to his instructors at school. One day Jeremy behaved naughty and atrocious with his friends at a party. The difference in behavior of the Jeremy explains the importance of the context in assessing the behavior of Jeremy.

Most people will accurately identify lying what percentage of the time?
wolverine [178]
The answer to this depends on what sources you are using, but some sources state that people identify lies only 55% of the time!

That's very little, considering that 50% is the chance level - this number would be the one used if we could never really use our intuition to guess correctly. For example if we guessed that every second person randomly lies that would give us the "chance level" of 50 %. (if exactly half of the people lied).

And in real life, we can tell 55% of the time if people are lying - this means we are slightly better than chance.

We can conclude from this that we should never trust our intuition about whether people lie or not!

telo118 [61]

Answer:

Informational influence; Normative influence

Explanation:

Will pays attention to when the rest of the congregation sits and stands because he wants to be sure to stand and sit at the appropriate times. This shows Will has conformed because of INFORMATIONAL INFLUENCE.

Informational influence refers to new knowledge or arguments provided in a group discussion that alter the views, opinions, or actions of a group member, here WILL with the new knowledge he learned by observing the congregation helps him know his next options/actions.

Grace stands up and sits down when the rest of the congregation does because if she doesn't, the elderly couple across the aisle scowls at her.

Grace has conformed because of NORMATIVE INFLUENCE .

Normative influence refers to the idea that often times people change their actions, thoughts or beliefs that others like and embrace. GRACE stands up and sit down when the rest of the congregation does, because she knows if she doesn't the old women would scowl at her, this shows she is trying to impress and make the people like her.
