Every single year, general mills concerns a report deliberating how the firm has achieved in contradiction of its own standards of ethical ways. This report is a portion of general mill’s control phase of its strategic marketing planning process.  The control phase of a marketing plan comprises three separate stages of control. The first level comprises strategic controls that regulate the general success of a marketing strategy in relationships of markets, products and channels. The second level comprises operational controls that evaluate whether positive outcomes are being attained. The third level comprises profit and efficiency controls that control whether the business is creating or losing money and whether funds assigned to the marketing plan are being consumed in the furthermost well-organized way.

They were vital in settling new territories and opening up new wagon trails that travelled through the North American Rocky Mountains due to their knowledge in the geography of the area. Later in life, many of these mountain men were hired by wagon companies and fur trading companies as guides or hunters.
