A disturbance is a short term change in environmental conditions that causes a noticeable alteration in an ecosystem. If this change repeats itself over and over it is characterized as Cyclic disturbance.
This change or disturbance takes place because of several disturbance forces and in the absence of these forces ecosystem tends to return to conditions as it was pre-disturbance conditions.
