Answer:

A: Genetic imprinting

Explanation:

Genomic imprinting is a process wherein a gene is differentially expressed depending on whether it has been inherited from the mother or from the father and occurs only in sexually reproducing placental mammals.

Imprinting occurs when one of the gene’s parental alleles is silenced throughout the embryonic development of the individual by an alteration in parental DNA made during parental gametogenesis thus allowing the other parental allele expression during embryonic development. DNA methylation is one of the mechanisms by which imprinting occurs (the addition of a CH3, or methyl, group to specific regions of DNA). These process has led to disease syndromes and tremendous implications for development and a large attributes in adults.

When an antibiotic is __________, some bacteria can survive, and their offspring carry the ability to resist that antibiotic.
aleksklad [387]

When an antibiotic is overused, some bacteria can survive, and their offspring carry the ability to resist that antibiotic and this is known as Multi-drug resistance(MDR) in bacteria.

Antimicrobial resistance to at least one antimicrobial drug in three or more antimicrobial categories is known as multiple drug resistance (MDR), multidrug resistance, or multi-resistance.

Multi-drug resistance in bacteria refers to the ability of some bacteria to survive when an antibiotic is abused or overused and pass that ability to their progeny.

Antimicrobial categories group antimicrobial substances according to the target organisms they are effective against.

Multiple antibiotic-resistant bacteria are the MDR forms that pose the greatest concern to public health; other types include MDR viruses and parasites (resistant to multiple antifungal, antiviral, and antiparasitic drugs of a wide chemical variety).

- Research , collecting all kinds of data
- Hypothesis , an explanation that is made at the starting point, before the experiment
- Experiment , to find out whether your hypothesis is right
- Analyze the data that you got from the experiment
- Conclusion, your final judgement based on the result of your experiment

1. Suzie's hypothesis (i.e. prediction of results) is that ferns which are placed in white light will grow to a taller height after two weeks than ferns which are placed in other coloured light or in a closet.

2. Her independent variable (the thing she changes to produce a result) is the kind of light that she places each plant in.

3. The dependent variable (the thing she measures) is the height of the plants after two weeks.

4. I would say her control group would be the plant placed in the closet, because every other group is exposed to some form of light.

5. I would say that Suzie has 4 experimental groups: white, red, blue, and green light.

6. The constant variables were the amount of water each plant was given, the initial height of the plants, the age of the plants, the species of fern, and what she planted the ferns in.

7. To determine how each fern did, Suzie could measure the height in addition to noting the appearance of all the plants. E.g. did any look paler than the others?

What interaction between the atmosphere and the hydrosphere causes most current
JulijaS [17]

Answer:

These spheres are closely connected. For example, many birds (biosphere) fly through the air (atmosphere), while water (hydrosphere) often flows through the soil (lithosphere). In fact, the spheres are so closely connected that a change in one sphere often results in a change in one or more of the other spheres.
